Yes to both. Night mode dims the whole page and warms the colors, and comes on by itself between 9 pm and 6 am until you choose otherwise. How to play

Tap or click any tile to turn it a quarter turn.
Water starts at the amber valve and spreads through whatever is connected.
The board is done when every pipe on it is flowing. There is always a solution.
Keyboard: arrow keys to move, Enter or Space to turn.

Why there is no timer

Most pipe games race you: water creeps toward you and the board is lost if it reaches an open end. Pipe Down leaves that out on purpose. A break between jobs should lower your pulse, not raise it. Take as long as you like, put the phone down mid-board, and come back to it; the board is still there. The only number the game keeps is how many boards you have finished, and it keeps that on your device.

Tips for the bigger boards

Start at the edges. A pipe on the border can only point inward, so edge tiles usually have one right answer.
Dead ends (the tiles with a round cap) are the easiest to place: point the cap away from the wall.
Work outward from the valve. Each tile that lights up tells you what its neighbor has to do.
A straight pipe only has two states. If it isn't flowing, one turn will tell you.
Stuck? Nudge a tile. It straightens one tile the water already touches and costs nothing.
